Legend sets TUSK I for Tamiya (LF1185) and M1 Tank Stowage (LF1163) are showcased in this new gallery post. Our Tamiya M1A2 (35269) was transformed to TUSK I standards by using the Legend sets listed above as well as using sets from Eduard, Voyager, Verlinden. In addition to taking gold in class at AMPS 2010, this model is also featured in the book  ”Operation Iraqi Freedom US ARMY: Abrams, Bradley & Stryker”. A complete step by step build process is included in this book for this AFV model.

The build was pretty straight forward, hard to go wrong with a Tamiya kit. The kit however does not include the non-slip as seen in the pics, this was the most time consuming part of the build….it took forever to mask the pattern, but the effort was well worth it once the masks were removed! The non-slip was applied using a Rustoleum textured paint shot right out of the can, and the camoflage sand  finish is by Vallejo.
